Jessica is trying to catch up with her book so she may need time to get used to drawing comics. After watching so many streams, we were impressed at how quickly some artists can produce pictures. This would be something to consider in the future but for now, she would prefer to complete the book thoroughly.

We have been streaming lately and enjoyed uploading the process of making the pictures you see. There is still a learning curve to this but I think I have a solid idea on how to stream now. We plan to stream regularly during the weekends with a few announced streams in the weekdays. Check her out on Picarto.

Since the last update, Jessica has gone through so many books and is down to two books regarding comics. As a result, she has been showing her lesson assignments and experimented in doing silly random comics featuring our main comic protagonists. This will get her comfortable with finalizing a design and trying out different poses for the characters. She really enjoys the comments, favorites, and critiques you all and I give her and looks to improve with practice.

Due to our need to maintain financial stability, Jessica has less time per day to draw but has learned how to fit quality work within the short time span while still maintaining her job working with animals. Recently, she picked up a job working with animals where the environment is more welcoming and encouraging of her art inspiration. She knows that I'm proud of her for her job and her art as she continues to juggle the two every day.

As for me, I have been focused on my work and after a year of work earned a promotion. If I keep up the pace, I will be due for another promotion the following year. In addition, seeing Jessica make the most of her time inspired me to go back to my original plan of returning to school to earn my postgraduate degree. I have found two programs that are appealing and submitted my applications. I look forward to getting accepted to both programs as they are from the same school with similar course requirements but I just need one to get started. In the meantime, I am taking courses from Kahn Academy to recall mostly mathematical concepts and at times I didn't feel smarter than a 5th grader. Humbling but I learned quick and am finishing 7th-grade mathematics.

Things will be busy for us in the near future but we will make time to put up art and communicate our situation for you.

Currently, a lot of the uploads Jessica has posted is from instructional books I collected when I had spare time. Jessica was already well versed in drawing and I admired her art; however, she knew she could push herself further. She has gone through the following books:

Cartooning for The Beginner by Christopher Hart
You Can Draw Cartoon Animals by Christopher Hart
Young Artists Draw Cartoon Animals by Christopher Hart
Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Cartooning But Were Afraid To Draw by Christopher Hart

Cartoon Cute Animals by Christopher Hart
Figure It Out! The Beginner's Guide to Drawing People by Christopher Hart
The Cartoonist's Big Book of Drawing Animals by Christopher Hart

Draw More Furries by Jared Hodges and Linsay Cibos
Furries Furever by Jared Hodges and Linsay Cibos

Most of the art she posted came from these books as practice and she and I are proud of what was done last year. Here are some upcoming sources for this year.

Pencil Drawing Techniques by David Lewis
Drawing Realistic Textures in Pencil by J.D. Hillberry
Calligraphy For Dummies by Jim Bennett
Drawing Words and Writing Pictures by Jessica Abel and Matt Madden
Mastering Comics by Jessica Abel and Matt Madden

This is what I have collected over the years and we look to explore architecture and scenery in the future so we may add more books to this list. A couple of side projects Jessica has in mind is reviving some old drawings she had as a kid. Lastly, once she completes the books regarding comics we will start to post short comics. Once she is comfortable we will finally work on something serious. Expect more art and comics by Spring.

We are sorry for the lack of updates in the journal entries. Life happens but does not deter us from making progress. Jessica is still looking to practice drawing for a bit while she experiments different styles in developing our characters. I am more focused on my work as I just started my new job over six months ago. There is much to learn for the both of us and we want to make sure we perfect our craft before we make work on bigger projects.

In the meantime, we are having fun as Jessica is enjoying watching movies and playing games and me reading and practicing piano. Right now we are watching Bob Ross Joy of Painting. I mentioned it to Jessica and she laughed at my impression of him until she saw the show. Now she knows what I mean. She also has humbled me from time to time with gaming as we play Super Smash Bros and beaten me every now and then.

I hope everything is going well for everyone. We are happy to achieve 75 watchers and look forward to making more friends. Jessica loves responding to everyone. Thank you all for following us and look forward to more content.

About Us

4 min read
This entry is a little bit about the users of this account. This is a joint account and it would be a good idea to share with you the art and ideas that come into what you see. In this, you will see our background, what influences us, what we do and how opposites attract.

Writer:
I go by the name of Joe. My background includes economics, military, linguistics, calligraphy, and technology. Much of this came from work experience and growing up but I took the time to sophisticate myself in various topics. A few ideas for Atticus is a loose reflection of me along with the various influences that would make the character more exciting. The last thing I would like drawn is my day job drawn out event after event. I just started my dream career this year after college and military service.
A lot of what influences me comes from television, movies and video games with a bit of literature. I always enjoyed shows like MacGyver, Adventures of Tintin, Indiana Jones, and Rupert. For video games, I love the Metal Gear series, Metroid, Classic Sonic, Original Resident Evil, and more. I enjoy characters that can do great things yet still have a human factor in their lives. Seeing characters without such vulnerabilities often bore me even with unrealistic features such as magic and superpowers. Although I would love to read literature, I read at a slow pace so I pass up a lot of literature for the movies if it can give me an idea of what it is about.
Much of my personality is structures where, to get to a goal, you need to plan act and modify as needed. Mistakes will happen and when making a mistake minimize the severity of it by taking appropriate actions. I encourage my fiance to practice her art and show her weekday's workload to you. Much of her lessons come from books but I provide her the lesson plan of what to accomplish, when, and a reminder to post it to you all. We agreed that by the new year to start a comic.

Artist:
I go by the name of Jessica! My background includes art and lots of it. I grew up doing art like most of you, always wanting to get better with each drawing I produce next. My dream is to make a living off of what I love which is art. I always wanted to do animation as well so keep a look out for that XD Jasper is my fursona, she is what I would become if I was anthropomorphic in another dimension. She is one of the main characters in Amare-Fide (comic) right next to Atticus, in this comic many adventures will accrue including real life problems that some people will face and relate to. Our goal is to create a comic where people can feel a close bond with each and every character and every problem that they will face.
Things that influence me are cartoons, music, real life problems, stories, and of course video games. I enjoy shows/movies such as dragon ball (don't judge), spice and wolf, Rio, Princess and the frog, ect.
I enjoy games such as Ark, Fallout, Skyrim, Sims, Metal Gear, Sonic (all of the games lol ), and much more.
~
One of the main reasons why I picked a Sphynx as my fursona is because for some odd reason these cat's are kind of misjudged, but when you actually own one of these animals they are the sweetest creatures you could ever have. They are also very unique and adorable, just something about a cat always cuddling their owner for warmth just makes me happy ^_^ Yes, they are very cuddly animals, which is the definition of me when it comes to my boo bear <3 I want to help this breed get less of a negative reaction with this comic and with Jasper. And also I have many personal reasons why I picked a Sphynx :3
I hope as the comic goes on you guys will enjoy their unique personalities.
I mean who ever heard of a Sphynx and a Chinchilla together o__o :giggle:
